David Don Taubert

1964 — March 11, 2007

David Taubert, 42, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2007. A Memorial service, with Reverend Scott Mayer officiating, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2007 at the Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. David was born on September 7, 1964 in Abilene, Texas. He graduated from Cooper High School in 1983. He attended Texas Tech University, where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Finance. December 20, 1986, David married Debbie Gay in Dallas, Texas. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest. He was involved with many different community services which included President of the Volunteer Service Council at Wichita Fall State Hospital, a Boy Scout leader. He served as a Lay reader and usher at the church. He loved to read, play golf and tennis. Preceding David in death was his father Robert E. Taubert, Sr., his grandparents Julia Lee Taubert, Howard and LaVaughn West. He is survived by his wife, Debbie and their children, Megan Christine Taubert and Maxwell "Max" Edward Taubert. He is also survived by his mother, Linda Taubert of Abilene; two brothers, Trevor Scott Taubert and Robert Edward Taubert, Jr. both of Wichita Falls, Texas; his mother-in-law, Brenda Jack and her husband Bob of Dallas, Texas; his father-in-law, Cliff Gay of Austin, Texas; two sisters-in-law and their husbands, Kim and Gary Cavagnaro of Dallas, and Christi and Edwis Selph of Houston; and his grandfather, James Edward Taubert and his wife Dell of Wichita Falls. Four nieces and five nephews. Memorials may be made in honor of David Taubert to Scottish Rite Hospital, 2222 Welborn, Dallas, Texas 75219; or to The Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest, 602 Meander, Abilene, Texas 79602, David Taubert Memorial Scholarship at the Community Foundation, P.O. Box 1001, Abilene, Texas 79604.
