Darrel Lloyd Wulf, 83, of Abilene, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, in Abilene.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, July 29, 2021, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow at Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Darrel was born in Lost Nation, Iowa to Lloyd and Norma Wulf on March 16, 1938. He graduated from Lost Nation High School and later obtained his associates degree while in the U.S. Military. He served in the United States Air Force from March 1957 until he retired in October 1982. During his service he completed 2 tours in Vietnam. He worked as a field service technician for Sun Electric/Snap-On tools after his career in the military. He married the love of his life, Hildegard Hennig in Bitburg, Germany on September 23, 1961.
Darrel was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Darrel is survived by his wife Hildegard and their 4 children: Scott Wulf and wife Jan of Lincoln, California, Monica Young and husband Scott of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Linda Penny of Abilene, Texas and Mark Wulf of Leander, Texas; eight grandchildren, two brothers and one sister.
