Darlene Marie "Dee" Young

Darlene Marie "Dee" Young, 81 of Abilene passed away on Friday February 21, 2025 with her husband, Donald by her side.

Visitation will be 5pm to 7pm Monday February 24, 2025 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home

Funeral services will be 10:00am Tuesday, February 2025, with Pastor Jeff Reid of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. Arrangements are with The Hamil Family Funeral Home 64449 Buffalo Gap Rd. Abilene, Texas 79606.

Dee was born in Hanover, Pennsylvania to Dennis William and Lucreta Alive (Wagner) Bolden. She graduated from Southwestern High School in 19611. She married Donald Lee Young on June 2, 1963, in Hanover.

Dee worked at AISD in food service as a head cook for 23 years and retired in 2004. She worked at Franklin, Bonham, Reagan and was a teacher's aide and substitute teacher for 5 years after she retired.

Dee was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Allen Lee Young; her father and mother-in-law, Orlo M. Young and Neosha Irene Young.

Dee is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald Lee Young, her brother, Robert Bolden and wife, Terri of Hanover, PA.
