Darlene Goode

Darlene Sprawls Goode, of Abilene, Texas, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 in Houston, Texas.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 3rd at Hamil Family Funeral Home with Brother David Cason officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park and Cemetery, Early Texas. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, Texas.

Darlene was born in Lamesa, Texas to Darwin and Ruby Sprawls on December 31, 1938. She went to school in Lamesa, attending Lamesa High School. After moving to Midland, Tx Darlene married Bill Goode on January 9, 1961 where they settled down and raised their family. Darlene frequently worked in retail and in later years Darlene and Bill owned their own cement shop in Brownwood, Texas. She constantly indulged in any form of arts and crafts, sewing and painting and loved to read. She loved tending her gardens and keeping the multitude of animals they had in Brownwood. Above all, she played an active role in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, supporting them in any way she could.

Darlene is preceded in death by her parents, Darwin and Ruby Sprawls, husband, Bill Goode and daughter, Vickie Goode.

Darlene is survived by daughter Staci Wilkinson (Rock) of Houston, granddaughter Jennifer Keating (Nicholas) of Houston, grandson Justin Street (Jennifer) of Houston, granddaughter Megan Elling (John Black) of Abilene, granddaughter Haley Stuteville (Wyatt) of Abilene, and great-grandchildren Jamie and Madison of Houston, Gavin, Whit and Sadie of Abilene.
