Daniel Frank Pritchett, 73, passed away on May 19, 2018 in his home after a short battle with cancer. Daniel was born in Long Beach, California to Cliff and Etta Pritchett on April 10, 1945. He grew up in Compton and graduated from Dominguez High School in 1964. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served four years. He married Connie Ann Raney on June 1, 1968 in Phoenix, Arizona. He worked for The Los Angeles Times newspaper as a mailer for twenty-two years. He and his wife were foster parents for the state of California and fostered eight children. Daniel and his family moved to Abilene in 1990. He worked as a trainer at Abilene State School for twelve years before retiring. In retirement, Daniel and Connie enjoyed traveling, mostly cruising with friends, and spending time with their grandchildren. Daniel was an active member of Wylie Baptist Church.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Cliff and Etta Pritchett.
Daniel is survived by his wife Connie, his children, Crystal and Scott Cato, Coylene and Dale Isley, Collin Randall Pritchett and Daniel Corey and Bettina Pritchett, his brother Earl Pritchett, grandchildren, Lauren and Grant Cato, Daylene and Cloie Isley, Devin, Lucas and Liam Pritchett, and nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, many cousins, and close friends.
The memorial service will be held 1:00 pm June 9, 2018 at Wylie Baptist Church, Abilene, Texas.
Memorials may be given to Wylie Baptist Church Building Fund, 6097 Buffalo Gap Road or Hendrick Hospice Care, 1651 Pine Street, Abilene, Texas 79601.
