Dana Lynn Ray Blair, 51, died Wednesday, May 13, 2015 in Abilene, Texas. The daughter of Jim and Barbara Ray, Dana was born on May 18, 1963 in Hamlin, Texas. She attended school in Snyder and Carlsbad, New Mexico, and also New Mexico State University at Carlsbad, NM, graduating in 1997 with a degree in Nursing. As an R.N., Dana enjoyed her work at Landsun Homes Nursing Facility, and her years working Home Health in Carlsbad, El Paso, and Bakersfield, CA. She was a wound care specialist. Dana married E. J. Brantley in 1982, and two children were born to that union – Amanda Jo and Tyler James Brantley. Dana married J. D. Blair in 2007. She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Ray. Dana is survived by her husband, J. D. Blair of Abilene; daughter, Amanda Bratcher and husband James of Carlsbad, NM; son, Tyler Brantley of Abilene; one brother, Michael Ray and wife Sandi of Arlington; mother, Barbara Ray of Abilene; stepson, Robert Blair and wife Chandra; stepdaughters, Sara and Mark Allen, and Ashli and husband Cory Montoya; grandchildren, Kadyn, Kaisen, and Taygun Bratcher, and Gavin Brantley; step grandchildren, Carley Blair, Cameron, Brodie, Teagen and Lalya Allen, Kara, Lexie and Jacie Montoya of Carlsbad, NM; and nephews, Kyle and Shane Ray of Arlington. A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2015 a Broadview Baptist Church in Abilene, Texas with Rev. Wes Terry officiating, directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 3402 North 1st Street, Suite 102, Abilene, TX 79603.
