Dan Holt, 89, of Abilene, Texas and formerly of Snyder, died Thursday, January 24, 2013 in Abilene.
The son of Alberta (Hubbs) and Ruffus Lee Holt, Dan was born on January 13, 1924 in Gouldbusk, Texas, and graduated from Forsan High School. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corp and owned Arrow Construction in Snyder. He had been a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner.
Dan was preceded in death on January 31, 2003, by his wife, Marion Faith Holt, whom he married in May 13, 1943. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Bruce Holt, Ward Holt and Howard Holt, and four sisters, Alva Neely, Bess Donaldson, Gladys Wilkerson, and Louise Smith.
Survivors include his son, David Holt and wife Donna of Snyder, Texas; daughter, Linda Faith Holt Hall of Virginia; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, January 26, in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. A memorial service will follow at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Wesley Court Methodist Retirement Center, 2617 Antilley Road in Abilene.
Pallbearers will be Charles Coody, Travis Hatter, Bill Keys, Alan Holt, Kevin Holt, Marvin Hall and Randy Glover.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
