Dale Farmer, 67, of Tuscola, Texas passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 in Mesa, Arizona.
A native of Merkel, Texas, Dale was born on April 10, 1948 to Linnie Faye (Armstrong) and Walter Lewis Farmer. He was a graduate of Merkel High School and served in the US Marine Corps in Vietnam. Dale was a field technician for Hewlett Packard. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and a member of Wylie United Methodist Church.
Dale was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia “Patti” Charlene Farmer, on October 24, 2013. On May 21, 2015, he married Lois Janoma Traweek in Taylor County, Texas.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Walter Lewis Farmer and Linnie Faye Farmer; sister, Jana Farmer; father-in-law, Charles Byers; brothers-in-law, Ricky Cox and Bobby Spencer; and mother-in-law, Patsy Martin.
Dale is survived by his wife, Lois Traweek Farmer of Tuscola; two sons, Randall Farmer and wife Adrianne, and Corey Farmer, all of Tuscola; one daughter, Mandy Mostad and husband Michael of Winters, TX; four stepsons, Jayson, Bryan, Randy and Riley; three stepdaughters, Janoma, Lyndie and Emilee; four grandchildren, Marcus Mostad, Mara Mostad, Morgan Mostad and Katie Farmer; and seventeen step grandchildren plus two more on the way.
Survivors also include his mother-in-law, Norma Byers of Noodle, TX; three brothers-in-law and their spouses, Clint Byers and Tracy of Sweetwater, TX, Keith Byers and Debbie of Santa Fe, TX and Chris Cox and Laura of Buffalo Gap, TX; a sister-in-law, Kathy Spencer of Ranger; and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as numerous hunting buddies.
Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, August 30, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 31, at Wylie United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Jeff Hatcher and Billy Crim. Burial will follow in the Buffalo Gap Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dalton Cox, Alan Byers, Ricky Ybarra, Marcus Mostad, Jason Galloway and Randy Galloway.
