Conrad Christopher Bratton, 73, died Monday, June 16, 2014 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 19, at the Church of the Heavenly Rest, Episcopal officiated by The Right Rev. James Folts, The Right Rev. J. Scott Mayer, The Rev. David Puckett, The Rev. Mary Glover, The Rev. David Romanik, and The Rev. Bill Wright. Arrangements are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. Born in Dallas, Texas on March 27, 1941, Conrad was the son of Naomi Bernice Clardy Bratton and the late Luther Conrad Bratton. He graduated from Texas High School in Texarkana, Texas in 1959. He held a Master of Music degree from Hardin-Simmons University. He was Choir Master and Administrator at Church of the Heavenly Rest, Episcopal. Conrad married Linda Elisabeth Little on August 22, 1964 at the First Baptist Church, Abilene. At the time of his death, he was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Abilene. Conrad is survived by his wife, Linda Bratton of Abilene; mother, Naomi Bratton of Abilene; son, James “Jay” Bratton of Abilene; and niece, Cindy Little of Farmington, New Mexico.
