Coletta Camille Clermont, 91, of Abilene, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 8, 2015 in Abilene.
Coletta was born in Dayton, Ohio to Charlotte and William Wright on August 1, 1923.
She was a member of the Church of the Heavenly Rest, Episcopal, where she was involved in many service projects. Coletta was a member of the Abilene Interfaith Council, Daughters of the King, ECW, St. Margaret’s Guild and was a 20+ year volunteer for the Church of the Heavenly Rest Thrift House. She also taught the Fit and Flex class at Rose Park Senior Center for over 22 years. Coletta felt that contributing her time to volunteer projects was very important.
Coletta is survived by her three beloved children, Bill Zimmerman and his wife Gail of Solana Beach, CA, Carol Baugus and her husband Bobby of Abilene, and Bonnie Guercio and her husband Ralph of Hollis, NH; her grandchildren, Randa Minnis and her husband Jason of Allen, Greg Goldsmith of Austin, Baily Baugus and his wife Tabitha of San Angelo, and Brian Guercio and his wife Lara of Cambridge, MA; her great-grandchildren, Alexandra Gates and her husband Brandon of Abilene, Grey Goldsmith of Austin, Noah Goldsmith of Austin, Evan Baugus of San Angelo, and Brooks Guercio of Cambridge, MA. She loved her family dearly and the feeling was extremely mutual. She was never happier than when her family was around her.
Coletta is also survived by many, many dear friends with whom she spent countless happy hours volunteering, exercising, and just plain having fun. She had a rich and full life and was blessed with many wonderful experiences.
There will be a memorial service for her at the Church of the Heavenly Rest, Episcopal at a later date. Arrangements are by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Coletta’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Abilene Regional Medical Center, Hendrick Hospice Care, and the wonderful, caring nursing staff—especially Becky, Kathy, Heather, Dodd, Alexis, and Hospice nurses, Leisha and Theresa.
