Clinton Garvin Lesley, Sr., 78, of Abilene, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Rev. David Cason will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dewey Cemetery in Lawn, Texas. Visitation will be Saturday afternoon from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
Clinton was born June 17, 1935 in Abilene, Texas to Lewis John Lesley and Jessie Lucille (Agnew) Lesley. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Clinton worked as a truck driver his entire life, retiring from T & W Trucking Co. in 1999.
He married Frances J. Lesley on June 18, 1957 in Albany, Texas. She preceded him in death on May 22, 1976. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Margie Ann Morris.
Clinton is survived by his wife, Edith Faye (Boren) Lesley, who he married on September 15, 1987 in Abilene. He is also survived by three sons, Clinton Lesley, Jr. of Abilene, Mark Lesley of Prescott Valley, AZ and Lewis Lesley and wife Monica of Jackson Hole, WY; one daughter, Audrey Smith and husband Randall of San Angelo; his twin brother, Jimmy D. Lesley, brothers, Tom Lesley and wife Darlene, and Junior Lesley, all of Abilene; one sister, Grace Mantooth, also of Abilene; 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
