Clark Wayne Beasley was born June 6, 1942 in Pittsburg, Kansas to Laura Mae and Keith Paul Beasley. He died Sunday night, June 24, 2012 at a local health center.
He earned his B.S. in Biology from Kansas State College of Pittsburg and his PhD in Zoology from the University of Oklahoma. He taught at McMurry University from August 1969 to May 2010.
Clark was a member of the Episcopal Church of Heavenly Rest. He was also a member of the Big Country Master Naturalists.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara Allman Beasley. He is survived by his sister Ann Cooper and her husband Trey of St. Louis, Missouri, his brother, Ron and his wife Carol Beasley of Mountain Home, Arkansas. He is survived by his son, Dr. Craig Beasley and his wife Della of Throckmorton, Texas and by his daughter, Stacy Kuenn and her husband Kevin of Plano, Texas. He has two grandchildren, Brianna Beasley of Throckmorton and Brady Kuenn of Plano. His is also survived by three step-grandchildren, Jim Lee of Baird, Willie Lee of Abilene, and Cara Lee of Lubbock. He has six step-great-grandchildren, James Tuffs of Baird, Alyssa, Jason, and Jonah Lee of Baird, and Haley and Parker Lee of Abilene.
Dr. Clark Beasley received an Outstanding Professor Award at McMurry University. He advised numerous nurses, doctors, and dentists. He researched and studied tardigrades and has published articles on this subject.
He leaves a sweet little Maltese named Emmy.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at the Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest. Cremation arrangements were by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
