Claire Bell

Claire (Smith) Miller Bell  passed away on February 22,  2023 in Abilene, Texas, at the age of 92.   She was born in California and moved with her family to Texas where she attended schools in Gorman, Rankin and Hondo.  She moved to Clute, Texas, and married Norman Miller in 1958 and they had two children, Steven and Cheryl Miller.  She was employed by Dow Chemical Company for many years.  In 2011, she married her  high school sweetheart, Bob Bell, of Snyder, Texas.  After Bob’s death she moved to Abilene, where she resided in BrightPointe at Lytle Lake Nursing Home. 

She is survived by her son, Steven Miller, of San Antonio, her stepson, Bruce Bell, of Snyder, her grandchildren, Madeline (Miller) Burden, Nathan Miller, Joshua, Jordan, Sarah and Josiah Stanley, and one great granddaughter, Charlotte Burden, by her sisters Ruth Ebey, of College Station, and Wanda  Stayton, of Abilene, by her brother, John Smith, of Tamworth, NSW, Australia, and many nieces and nephews.    

She was predeceased by her first and second husbands, and her daughter, Cheryl (Miller) Stanley.   Arrangements are being handled by Hamil Family Funeral Home.

There will be a family memorial service.
