Christy Ann Wiggins

Christy Ann Wiggins, age 73 of Weatherford, TX, passed away on September 11, 2021 in Ft. Worth, TX.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Joseph Beyerle of The Door Christian Fellowship in Weatherford, TX. Burial will follow at Potosi Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Roger Thackerson, Tray Richards, John Wiggins, Glenn Degnan, Richard Wright, and Kaden Wright.

Christy Ann Wiggins was born in Abilene, TX to Claudie B. Lanham and Grady Lee Wiggins on August 28, 1948. Christy’s father, Grady, was a chiropractor for 45 years in Abilene, and retired in 1996 at the age of 80. Her mother, Claudie, worked in her father’s office.

Christy graduated from Cooper High School in Abilene in 1966. She went on to achieve a master’s degree at North Texas University in Denton, TX. She was a math teacher for 38 years, and retired from Weatherford High School in 2010, where she taught Special Education math. Christy had a playful nature about her, with a quick wit which gave those who knew and loved her so much laughter. She loved her 38 years of teaching children and her work with children in Special Education, teaching them math. Showing them different learning styles to build their confidence and helping them understand math reminds us of her patience and giving nurture to others that most needed her help.

Christy had a giving heart, a nurturing spirit, and she loved to make people laugh and children dream, and she always walked with her Heavenly Father. Christy’s love of God was above all else in her life. She had a special love for children and surrounded herself with them as often as possible. She created a place for children that surrounded them with imagination and creativity. Her elaborate doll houses she created with great joy were every little girl’s dream. Her home is filled with an abundance of toys and a playroom for the children she loved so dearly. Christy’s home was filled with pictures of loved ones, sunflowers, and angels fill her shelves and walls. She kept an album on her phone of the children which she loved and would present them with great delight in showing them to everyone.

Christy was affectionately drawn to those who were not feeling well, and always wanted to help. She had a gift of reflexology and used this gift to help many. She loved taking pictures and creating memories with them, cataloging them in separate picture albums. Her face would light up with joy – she loved sharing these memories with everyone.

She had a passion for her Lord and Savior, this was most precious to her.

John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Christy’s dearest friend and companion of 23 years, Timothy Paul Wright “Tim” shared her fervent love for our Lord and Savior, a bond that lives on. Christy shared many years with Tim enjoying worship together, family holidays, birthdays and daily life. Many years of memories that Tim will cherish remembering her ability to make him laugh and smile, uplifting each other through times of sorrow and sharing even more fond memories of each other’s daily company.

Christy had a flare for the whimsical and each time she had her nails done it was always a surprise of what colors and designs for each season.

As Christy has travelled on to be with her Lord and Savior, she will be greatly missed.

Christy was preceded in death by her parents Claudie B. Wiggins and Grady Lee Wiggins.

Christy is survived by her best friend and companion of 23 years, Tim Wright from Lawn, TX; her brother, Ronnie Wiggins and wife Jan; brother, Kenneth Wiggins and wife Theresa; stepdaughter, Karen Devereaux; stepson, Brad Loomis; nephew, Kenneth Wiggins, Jr. and wife Christina and their children Christian, Kenny Wiggins III, and Collin; nephew, John Wiggins and wife Stacy and their children, Skyler, Paisley, and Lilly; niece, Julie Wright and husband Richard and their children, Kaden and Teagan; as well as numerous cousins.
