Christopher Festejo, 52, died Friday, June 18, 2010 at Abilene Regional Medical Center in Abilene, Texas.
The son of Natividad (Falcatan) and Vicente Festejo, Christopher was born on August 29, 1957 in Corcuera, Philippine Islands. Fifteen years ago, he moved from the Philippines to Abilene where he was employed by Abilene State School as a physical therapist. He was a member of Abilene Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Christopher loved listening to and singing gospel music and participating in many sports, especially basketball and tennis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ory Festejo and Charles Festejo; and two sisters, Tori Villasis and Cathy Mabunga.
Christopher is survived by his wife Sylvia Pahunang Festejo, daughter Chelsy Mhy Festejo and son Christopher Festejo, Jr. all of the Philippines; three brothers, Ermie Festejo and his wife Eunice, and Deevin Festejo and his wife, Susan, all of Canada, and Amor Festejo his wife Ruth of the Philippines; four sisters, Joy Festejo of Abilene, and Melly Fajilajot and her husband Eddie, Ariad Angara and her husband Rolando and Bless Venus and her husband Dante, all of the Philippines; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, at Abilene Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor David McLauchlan officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Abilene directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. The family will receive friends for a time of sharing from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, at the funeral home.
