Christopher Alan Davis, 53, of Abilene passed away on January 14, 2015 in Odessa, Texas.
Chris 'Crazy' Davis was born in San Diego County to Perry and Ruthanne Davis on December 11, 1961. His family moved to Abilene in 1974. He graduated from Cooper High School in 1981. Chris married Donna Patrick on March 31, 2012 in Abilene. He has served the State of Texas as a corrections officer since 1997. He previously worked for over 10 years as a machinist for General Dynamics of Abilene.
Chris was preceded in death by both grandparents and many close friends.
Chris is survived by his wife Donna; step-son, Darrell Meissner of Abilene; brother, Bruce and his wife Barbara Davis of Palmer, TX; brother-in-law, Alan and his wife Jennifer Patrick of Austin; parents, Irving Perry and Ruthanne Davis and mother-in-law, Karen Patrick, all of Abilene. He is also survived by his beloved dogs, Harley, Hollywood, Molly and Max.
Chris met the love of his life, the light in his eyes and the joy of his heart, Donna, in 2010. He was a man of integrity, a loving husband, brother and son. He was loyal to his friends, fair to those with whom he worked and most of all he was true to himself. Chris Davis was real. We will all miss him because he is gone, but we are much better people because he lived.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, January 23, 2015 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Trinity Baptist Church, 871 Woodlawn. Pastor Kevin Kennedy of Trinity Baptist Church will officiate along with Rev. Peter McNabb of Wheatland Methodist Church in Dallas. Interment will follow at Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Rescue the Animals of Abilene; Legacy Boxer Rescue of DFW; Austin Boxer Rescue or your local animal rescue organization.
