Chetwin Merrill Hurd

Chetwin M. Hurd, of Granbury, passed away on August 17, 2020 in Abilene, Texas. He will be buried in Dallas National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. Chetwin was born in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, to Chetwin and Chelsea Hurd on August 10, 1933. He graduated from Indiana University in Pennsylvania in 1954. He married Vera Stiles February 6, 1959. He served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1975, serving in Viet Nam in 1966 to 1967. He earned a master's degrees from TCU in 1965. He graduated from Commander and General Staff College 1969 in Ft Leavenworth, Kansas. Chetwin is survived by his wife Vera, his son John and daughters Susan and MaryLou and son-in-law Gregory, his sister Marilyn Herbruck, and grandchildren Matthew and Madeleine. The family would like to thank the many healthcare workers who cared for him.
