Chestina "Chessy" Ray Gloyna passed away on January 3, 2025.
There will be a Celebration of Life service at 10:00 AM at Oldham Lane Church of Christ on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. Burial will follow on Wednesday, January 15 at 1:00 PM at La Salle Cemetery near Mexia, TX.
Chestina Ray Gloyna was born in Spring, TX to Ray Ann and Dennis Gloyna on July 6, 1979. She graduated from Wylie High School in Abilene, TX and then continued on to become a Wildcat at Abilene Christian University where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in 2013.
Chessy was preceded in death by her mother Ray Ann Gloyna of Abilene and her grandparents.
Chessy is survived by her father Dennis Gloyna and wife Cindy Gloyna of Kimberling City, Missouri; brother Myrick Gloyna and wife Katie of Abilene, along with nephews James and John Christian.
A devoted dog lover, her canine companions brought unconditional love and joy into her life. She acquired a number of animals throughout the years from either the local shelter, or the streets. Roxy, Max, and Bella were family. Depending on her health at the time, Chessy would walk them separately, rain or shine, for miles every morning. They will miss her.
Recently, Chessy discovered a passion for art-specifically water colors. She had a gift and possessed a unique ability to see the world through a creative lens. She could weave beauty into the everyday, transforming the ordinary into something extraordinary. Her light shined brightly through her art and her legacy of love, faith, and creativity will continue to inspire us. Chessy's story was one of resilience and faith.
Chessy's heart was filled with love for friends and family, but especially for her mother. Her sweet mom's untimely passing left a large void, but her memory fueled Chessy's spirit and inspired her life. Chessy longed for the reunion in heaven, where she could once once again hug her momma's neck. Chessy's faith was the cornerstone of her life and continued to blossom in recent years. This faith provided her with strength, comfort, and an unshakeable belief in a greater purpose. We know Chessy's celebrating with Jesus, her mom, Mema, and all other loved ones who passed before her. Chessy fought the Good Fight and she is now in Paradise. We love you and will see you again.
Memorials may be given to Oldham Lane Church of Christ or The Parc Animal Welfare Facility.
