Cheryl Crawford Macinnes, 63, died Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
Born in San Diego, CA, on December 6, 1950, Cheryl was the daughter of Bobbie Nell (Reagan) Crawford and the late Milton Edgar Crawford.
Cheryl was involved in many activities in high school. She played the clarinet in the band for seven years, having won several U.I.L. medals. She was also involved in Latin Club, Future Homemakers of America, Future Business Leaders of American and Tri Hi Y. She received the highest award in Girl Scouts of America.
Cheryl was very good at shorthand which led her to attend Business College to become a stenographer and to become a court reporter both in San Angelo and Austin, Texas. She last worked for the Texas State Water Commission. Cheryl loved to play board and card games. She was always singing and dancing to old rock and roll music when she was younger.
Cheryl is survived by her mother, Bobbie Crawford of Abilene; two brothers, Burl Crawford of Liberty Hill, Texas, and Keith Crawford and wife Debbie of Abilene; sister, Jenell Crawford of Dallas; two nieces, Megan Wells and Jessica Crawford; and one nephew, Daniel Crawford.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 21, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene with Steve Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Denton Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
