Charlsie Hester Ervin, 81, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013 in Abilene, Texas.
The daughter of Willie Mae (King) and William Martin Waller, she was born on March 24, 1932 in Diboll, Texas, and moved to Abilene in 1968. At the time of her retirement, Charlsie had been a cashier at Wes-T-Go for six years. She previously worked at Casey’s Little Red Barn, Old Abilene Town, Red Barn, and Ranch House.
On October 13, 1946, she married Lee Hester, who preceded her in death on December 25, 1971. Charlsie married William Howard Ervin on September 12, 1973. He preceded her in death on December 24, 1986. Her parents; son, Richard Lynn Hester; daughter and son-in-law, Judy Marie Arthur and William J. Arthur; three brothers; three sisters; and a dear friend Charles Hancock also preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Clifton Hester (Suzanne), and James “Cowboy” Hester (Ann), all of Abilene; four daughters, Marilyn Morris (Gerald) of Abilene, Loisann Massingill (Jay) of Weatherford, TX, Diane Gibbs (Ricky) of Abilene, and Sheila Wadlington (Dwain) of Abilene; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 26, in Tye Cemetery with Mark Hewitt officiating. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene.
Serving as pallbearers will be eight grandsons including Darrell “D.D.” Gibbs, Brandon Gibbs, Steven Wadlington, Chad Wadlington, Chris Massingill, Evan Hester, Rowdy Hester and Hunter Williams.
