Charles Delmon Wilson, 84, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018 in Abilene.
Born in Abilene, Texas on July 15, 1934, Delmon was the son of Amy (Grigg) and Archie Wilson. He worked for Meads Fine Bread, Aileen’s, Texas Instruments, and finally for Texas Department of Transportation as a maintenance supervisor. He married Dolores Yvonne Williams on December 17, 1955 in Abilene at the home of her parents.
He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Abilene.
Delmon was a “fixer-upper” and great handyman. He enjoyed restoring older vehicles and playing golf on occasion.
His wife, Dolores Yvonne Wilson; parents; and brothers, Horace Wilson, J.C. Wilson and Earl Wilson, preceded Delmon in death.
Delmon is survived by his son, Steve Wilson; daughter, Susan Wilson McCoy; five grandchildren, Tanner, Ryan, Elizabeth, Katherine and Jonathan; two great-grandchildren, Gia and Landon; sister, Joy Teaff; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00pm Thursday, December 27, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Friday, December 28, in The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Pastor Gary Boles. Burial will follow in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tanner McCoy, Ryan McCoy, Wendell Carroll, Kelly McCoy, James Page and Jordan Page.
Memorial may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or America Cancer Society.
