Charles H. Dalrymple, 85, of Abilene, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024, in Abilene.

A committal service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 18, 2024, at The Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene, 7457 W. Lake Rd., in Abilene. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd.

Charles was born in Ocoee, Florida, to Clyde H. and Mamie (Howell) Dalrymple on April 28, 1939. He joined the United States Air Force on February 4, 1957, and served his country faithfully for 20 years, serving two tours in Vietnam. After retiring from the Air Force, he became a machinist for many years.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Mary Janis (Black) Dalrymple; his two sons, Jimmy Dalrymple and Charles Dalrymple, Jr., along with 2 brothers and 1 sister.

Charles is survived by his wife, Janie Dalrymple; daughter, Melodi Kammann and husband Ralph of Chicago, Illinois; step-son, John Edwards and wife Brenda of Brownwood; step-daughter, Donna Young of Edmond, Oklahoma; grandchildren, McKinzey Kammann, Ashton Kroner and husband Casey, and Chase Childress; step-grandchildren, Lindsey Mauldin and husband Justin, Lanie Edwards, Taylor and Heather McGrew, Daniel and Stephanie McGrew, Morgan and Ethan Gingrich; brother and sister-in-law, Marion and Glenda Simpson, along with several great-great grandchildren and extended family members.
