Charles Wayne Awalt

Charles Wayne Awalt, 75, of Abilene, Texas, passed away on March 9th, 2016 in Abilene, Texas. Visitation will be Friday, March 11th from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffal9 Gap Road in Abilene, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 12th at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church with Pastor Marc Farnell of CrossRidge Church, Little Elm, Texas, officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Winters, Texas. Arrangements are by The Hamil Family Funeral Home. Charles was born in Winters, Texas to Charlie and Meda Awalt on February 16th, 1941. Charles graduated from Winters High School and McMurry University in Abilene, Texas. He married Beverly Bedford on September 7th, 1961 in Winters, Texas. He was self-employed and worked as a CPA in Abilene for over 40 years. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Meda Awalt. Charles is survived by his wife, Beverly Awalt, son, Shane Awalt and wife Tammy, and daughter Kim Farnell and husband Marc; his sisters, Phyllis Jones and Joy Bishop and brother Glynn Awalt; grandchildren, Kaitlin Awalt, Kirsten Awalt, Colby Awalt, Jessica Farnell, Macey Farnell and Hannah Farnell; and many other loving aunt, uncles, cousins and family members. The family of Charles wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Trauth; Hendrick Medical nurse, Kayla; Hospice nurses, Angie, Alexa and a special thanks to Lana who was with us when he went to be with the Lord; and to Pioneer Drive Baptist Church.
