Charlemange Falcatan Festejo, 71, of Abilene, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2006 at Abilene Regional Medical Center. Visitation and viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 22 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and on Wednesday, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am at Abilene Seventh Day Adventist Church, with Pastor Dem Robles officiating. Burial will follow at the Abilene Municipal Cemetery, Cedar Hill Section.
Charles was born on July 19, 1935 in Romblon, Philippine Islands to Vicente and Natividad (Falcatan) Festejo. He graduated from Philippine Union College as a teacher and a minister. He married Miriam Emverda in 1976. They lived in the Abilene and the Big Country area, including Clyde and Baird, since August of 1983. Charles loved singing and listening to gospel music. He also enjoyed gardening and making people laugh. Charles was a member of Abilene Seventh Day Adventist Church.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents, one brother, Ory Festejo, and two sisters, Tori Villasis and Cathy Mabunga. Charles is survived by his wife, Miriam Festejo of Abilene; four brothers, Chris Festejo of Abilene, Ermie Festejo and his wife Eunice of Canada, Deevin Festejo and his wife Susan, also of Canada, and Amor Festejo of the Philippines; four sisters, Joy Festejo of Abilene, Melly Fajilajot, Ariad Angara and Bless Venus all of the Philippines; and several nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
