Celia Denise Trimble, 61, of Abilene, passed from this life Sunday, December 7, 2014 after a long hard battle with cancer. Per Celia’s request, no services will be held. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, Texas.
Celia was born March 3, 1953 in Clovis, New Mexico to Barbara and George Harold Trimble. She graduated from Eastern New Mexico State University, receiving her BA Degree in 1976 and MA in 1977. In 1982, she graduated from St. Mary’s University with her Law Degree.
Celia began her practice of law in Abilene in 1982 and continued her practice there until her death. She was a certified mediator and board certified in family law. She was a member of Academy of Family Law Specialist and co-authored an article on “Enforcement of Child Support”. She was the chair of the Family Law Examination Committee for the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
Celia was active in many charities, but she had a special love for Rescue the Animals.
She was preceded in death by her father. Celia is survived by her mother, Barbara Trimble, her sister, Ginger Garrett and her brother, Lynn Trimble, as well as several nieces and nephews.
