Cecelia La Von Scott

Cecelia La Von (Von) Scott, 68, of Abilene, Texas stepped into heaven with a new and perfect body on Friday, May 27, 2016 with her family by her side at Hendrick Medical Center, Abilene, Texas. Visitation will be from noon to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. Service will be graveside at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Bagget Cemetery, Comanche, Texas. Von was born in Abilene, Texas on April 29, 1948 to Charles C. and Dorothy Scott. She attended West Texas Rehab from 1953 to 1958 and Whittier Schools in Whittier, California from 1958 to 1966. She and her family returned to Abilene in 1972. Von was a big fan of Elvis Presley and met him in person when she was a young teen. Von enjoyed being around others and loved being teased by her family and friends – the more you teased – the more she liked it. Von was full of joy and loved by all that knew her and cared for her throughout her life. Von was preceded in death by her father, Charles C. Scott; her grandparents, Poppa and Momma Holden; her uncle, Balvin and aunts Thelma, Oleta and Willie Mae. Von is survived by her mother, Dorothy Scott; her guardian and cousin, Sue Munson; a host of cousins and a multitude of friends. Memorials may be given to a charity of donor's choice.
