Catherine Lack, 90, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. Funeral services, with Rev. John Sanders and Dr. Robert Sledge officiating, will be at 10:00 am on Thursday at St. James United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
September 4, 1917, Catherine was born in St. Claire, Missouri to Lawson McKean and Blanche Davis McKean. She married Paul E. Lack in 1940 in St, Claire, Missouri. Abilene was Catherine's home from 1959 until 2004 when she moved to Dallas to be near her daughter. Catherine was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Women and a charter member of St. James United Methodist Church in Abilene.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters and one brother. Catherine is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Paul Lack and Dawn Trammell, of Abilene; her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Willie Cothrum, of Dallas; six grandchildren, Brice Stivers, Brooke Hebetz, Spence Lack, Dr. Dallas Cothrum and his wife Carrie, Clay Cothrum and Dr. Talmadge and his wife Sara; five great-grandchildren; and eight nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Food Bank of Abilene, 5505 North 1st Street, Abilene, Texas 79603.
