Carolyn Waltrip

On Sunday, December 31, 2023, Carolyn Waltrip, loving wife and mother, passed away too soon at the age of 66 in Abilene, TX.

Carolyn was a beautiful soul born on October 29, 1957, to loving parents Huey and Sue Robichaux in New Iberia, LA. As the eldest of her siblings, she was a natural caregiver and nurturer, always looking out for her younger brother, Morris, and sister, Patrice. She carried this same nurturing spirit into her own family life, raising her two sons, Joey and Josh, with all the love and care in the world.

Carolyn's passion for helping people led her to open and operate Serenity Massage Therapy in Abilene, where she served her community for 20 years. Her clients always left feeling refreshed and at peace, thanks to her healing touch and compassionate heart.

When Carolyn wasn't working, she loved to travel with her family, especially going on cruises. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones and made sure to create happy memories that would last a lifetime.

On April 7, 2006, Carolyn married the love of her life, Charlie Waltrip, in Abilene, TX. Their love for each other was truly inspiring and brought joy to everyone who knew them.

Carolyn will always be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the memories she created.

She was preceded in death by her parents Huey and Sue Robichaux and brother Huey Jr. Robichaux.

She is survived by her husband Charlie Waltrip, son Joey LaPointe of Abilene, son Josh and Katelyn Neill of Abilene. Brother Morris Robichaux of New Iberia, LA, Sister Patrice Borel of New Iberia, LA, and granddaughter Raelyn of Abilene. And a host of nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 8, 2024, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, TX.

A Memorial service officiated by James Smart will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m.
