Carolyn Linville Rodgers, 74, passed away on November 25 in Abilene, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, November 30 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene, with Dare Stevens of Elmwood West, officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Gap Cemetery.
Carolyn was born in Lorena, Texas to Alpha and Margaret Linville. She graduated from Snyder High School in Snyder, Texas in 1959 and attended Draughon School of Business in Lubbock, Texas. She married Bob Rodgers on June 19, 1960. They lived in several West Texas towns including Snyder, Colorado City and Breckenridge before residing in Abilene in 1974. After a brief career in real estate, she spent the remainder of her professional career at Commercial Credit and retiring from Citi Financial in 2005. Upon retirement, Carolyn remained active in community service, delighted in her passion of seamstress talents and loved traveling with her family, but most of all time spent with her beloved granddaughters. Carolyn was an active member of Elmwood West United Methodist Church.
Carolyn is survived by her beloved husband and best friend of 55 years, Bob Rodgers, two daughters Cindy Robinson and Fiancé Brett Love of Buffalo Gap, Angela Abbate and husband Greg, two granddaughters Adison and Giana of Menomonee Falls, WI, and sister Josephine Linville Ivey of Sarasota, FL.
The pallbearers will be Greg Abbate, Brett Love, Richard Henry, Tod Lawrence, Chris Love, and Keith Turner.
Memorials may be given to Abilene Food Bank of West Central Texas and American Heart Association.
