Carolyn Hutton

Carolyn Lee Hutton, 85, of Abilene, passed away on April 14, 2021 in Abilene, TX.

A private family memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, April 21, 2021 at Hamil Family Funeral Home with Reverend Clyde Kieschnick officiating. Interment will be 9:00 a.m., Friday May 21, 2021 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6649 Buffalo Gap Road Abilene, TX.

Carolyn was born in Topeka, Kansas to Richard Frederick and Laurine Martha Meyer on January 20, 1936. She went to school in Topeka and attended Washburn University. She married Richard Donald Hutton on August 26, 1956 in Topeka, KS. She was a home maker until her kids were older and then worked in the insurance business, and had a successful career as an Insurance Agent. She was very involved in her church with Bible study groups, choir, and numerous committees. She had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends. She was known for her love of games, especially her bridge club, and spent many summers in the mountains in Colorado.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband Richard Hutton and her brother Wayne Meyer.

Carolyn is survived by daughters Beth Bushaw of Bellingham, WA; Kathy Sanders and husband Craig Sanders of Abilene, TX; son Steven Hutton and wife Georgia Hutton of Manor, TX;  sister Patricia Kamperman of San Antonio,TX;  sister-in-law Barbara Meyer of Monetta, SC; 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church of Abilene, TX or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
