Carole Ziegenhagen

Carole Jean Ziegenhagen, 79, of Abilene passed away on February 22, 2024, in Abilene.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm on Monday, February 26, 2024, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.  A Graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at The Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene, 7457 W. Lake Road with Pastor Mike Jones officiating.  Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home.

Carole was born in Winters, TX to Ray Riddle and Eloise Barry on October 27, 1944.  Carole worked for Timex, Crown Cork and Seal, Eastman Whipstock and Victor Equipment Company before graduating from Texas State Technical College.  After graduating she went to work at Dyess Air Force Base until her retirement.   Carole enjoyed fishing and loved watching Gunsmoke.

Carole was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Eloise, her husband Milo Ziegenhagen, brother Gary Wayne Riddle, and beloved dog Sonic.

Carole is survived by her sister Raye Nell and husband Billy Shelton, and sister Lillie Kerby.   Survivors also include Carole’s nieces: Sandy Kinman, Sharon Latimer, Cathy Young, Jessica Riddle, as well as nephews: David Shelton, Russell Kerby and Jeffery Riddle, and her beloved dog Max.
