Carol "Jan" Riddlespurger, age 60, of Abilene, TX passed away on Tuesday, November 21st, 2017 in Abilene.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 24th at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 25th at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Jason Gray of Redeemer Church of Abilene officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park.
Jan was born in Dalhart, TX to Curtis and Jean Miller on April 16, 1957. She was a graduate of Dumas High School, third in class, and West Texas State University, with honors. She married David Riddlespurger on May 4th, 1990 in Amarillo, TX. She worked as an administrator for her husband in his optometric practice, for 27 years. She was a school teacher, published bell choir arrangements, involved in women's ministry for many years at Southside Baptist Church, and served a year as president of Texas Business Professional Women's Association in Dumas.
Jan was preceded in death by parents Curtis and Jean Miller, and daughter Leslie Beach.
Jan is survived by her husband David Riddlespurger, her children: Caralea and her husband Rodney Batts, Sundae and her husband Corey McCutchan, Bryan and his wife Amanda Beach, her sisters: Michelle Mann, Susette Long, Denise Garvin, and Lynette Huck, her grandchildren: Ashton Witt, Sydney, Jace, and Jackson McCutchan, Aspen Morgan, Laurelle, Cadence, and Miles Beach, and her great-grandchild: Landyn.
Pallbearers will be Gary Riddlespurger, Dan Huck, Bob Winans, Donnie Meismer, Martin Matsler, and Philip Hettich.
