Carlos Galindo Flores, Jr., 66, died Sunday, March 22, 2009, at an Abilene medical center.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, with Randy Jackson officiating. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel.
Born in Fort Stockton, Texas on November 6, 1942, he was the son of Tomasa (Galindo) and Charles Flores. In 1973, he moved from Odessa to Abilene, where he was an employee of the City of Abilene. Mr. Flores was a member of the Catholic Church and a member of Alcoholics Anonymous.
His wife, Sallie Flores; his parents; and a brother, Joe Flores, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his children, Debra Mayes of Dallas, Joel Flores of Abilene, Cora Luera of Big Spring, Carlos Flores of Abilene, Paul Flores of Bowie, Monica Butler and husband, Marshall, of Abilene, Gary Flores of Abilene, and Mark Flores and wife, Jennifer, of Abilene; 29 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Carlos is also survived by brothers, Manuel Flores, Raymond Flores and Nicholas Flores, and sisters, Lupe Barrera, Rosa Quirros, Joanna Flores and Sandy Flores, all of Odessa.
