Carl Max Weaver, 75, died Tuesday, May 5, 2015 in Abilene, Texas.
Born in Hamlin, Texas on March 24, 1940, he was the son of Irby and Lila (Davis) Weaver. Following graduation from high school, he attended North Texas State University. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years.
He was a Highway Patrolman in Eden, and later for years was in the insurance business, which brought him to Abilene. While in Abilene, he became a real estate agent and opened CC & Co. Pest Control.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Pioneer Drive Baptist Church in Abilene. His hobbies were golfing, traveling, playing gin with his friends, and hanging out by his pool.
Carl married Carolyn Ivy of Stamford, Texas on March 11, 1963. Of that union, three children were born: Carl Keith Weaver, Gena Ann Weaver Gotcher, and Janice Elaine Weaver, an infant daughter who preceded him in death.
On August 1, 1998, Carl married Sharon Potts Wallace.
Carl is survived by his wife, Sharon Wallace Weaver; children, Carl Keith Weaver, Gena Ann Weaver Gotcher and husband Chris; stepson, Damon Wallace and wife Krissy; sister, LaGena Weaver; brother, Davis Weaver and wife Rhonda; grandchildren, Weston Hartmann, Allie Hartmann, Braden Wallace and Liam Wallace; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends, as well as two fuzzy friends, Max and Boots, who were their traveling companions. Survivors also include his cousins, O H Weaver and wife Marolyn, Dave Weaver and Guy Weaver, and his special adopted family, Johnny and Stephanie Howard,
Honorary pallbearers will be his golf buddies.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 7, at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Reid officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene.
