Camilo Juarez Daniel

Camilo "Danny" Juarez Daniel, 72, of Abilene, passed away Monday, July 7, 2008. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2008, at Good News Temple, 1164 Minter Lane with Pastor Brian Daniel officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Hamil Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 9, 2008, from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the church. Camilo was born July 18, 1935, in Abilene to Fructohso V. Daniel and Aurora Juarez Daniel. He Married Susie Cantu in Abilene on September 12, 1973. Camilo was a member of the Good News Temple and part of the Gospel Group, "Los Samaritanos", who traveled throughout Texas, Oklahoma and Mexico ministering in churches. He attended Americanization Elementary School and North Junior High. Camilo began working at age 14 as a bus boy at the Wooten Hotel from 1950-1956. In 1957, he worked as a cook for the Abilene Petroleum Club and later worked at the NCO Club, Sands Hotel, Downtowner, Hubbard Lake Steak House in Breckenridge and West Texas Medical Center. In 1975, Camilo went to work for the AISD as a custodian at Madison Middle School and in 1980, he went to work at Houston Sac as head custodian, retiring in 1999. Since retirement, he has enjoyed having fellowship at Hernandez Bakery on Butternut Street with his friends, Thomas Aguilar, Panfilo Mesa and Simon Moreno. Camilo is survived by his wife, Susie of Abilene; three sons, Carolos, Christophe and Andre Daniel, all of Abilene; three daughters, Sylvia Garcia and husband, Albert of Corpus Christi, Debbie and Cynthia Daniel, both of Abilene; four brothers, John Daniel and wife, Bennie, Eliseco Daniel and wife, Janie, Danny Daniel and Noel Daniel and wife, Minnie, all of Abilene; four sisters, Lidia Gonzalez, Esther Daniel, Becky Silguero and husband, Andres and Ruth Guerrero and husband, Raymond, all of Abilene; four aunts, Mary Loya, Vicki Quesada, Dominga Rosales and Carmen Gomez; 19 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers will be Charlie Daniel, Eric Garcia, R. J. Loya, Jonathan Loya, Joshua Flores and Brandon Martinez. Justin Flores will be a honorary Pallbearer.
