Calvin L. Daniels, 83 of Tuscola, Texas passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020, in Abilene.
Graveside services will be at 2 pm Monday, January 20, 2020 in the Mount Olive Cemetery in Big Spring, Texas, with the Rev. Marty CashBurless officiating. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd., Abilene, Texas.
Calvin was born on November 8, 1936 in Big Spring, Texas, to the late Mike and Elsie (Franks) Daniels. He graduated from Big Spring High School in 1955 and received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He and Anita Gardner were married on September 15, 1959 in Big Spring. Calvin began his career as a chemist at Cosden Refinery and went on to work for American Petrofina for more than 35 years. He was a member of the American Chemical Society for 57 years. He loved working with wood and had added photography to his hobbies. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Calvin and Anita lived 40 years in Big Spring until moving to Dallas, Texas in 1979 with American Petrofina. In 2019, they moved to Tuscola, with their daughter and her husband.
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Oweta Horn.
Survivors include his wife Anita of Tuscola; one daughter, Robin G. Daniels and husband James E. Jessup of Tuscola; one son, Christopher L. Daniels of Houston, Texas; one grandson, Zachary L. Daniels of League City, Texas; two brothers, Preston Daniels and wife Marva of Burnet, Texas, and Allen Daniels and wife Pat of Athens, Texas.
