Bryan Loyd Grow, 56, of Abilene, Texas was called Home by Jesus on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Baylor All Saints Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas after a long courageous battle with liver cancer and liver disease.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Elmwood Memorial Park with Brother Jimmy Griffith officiating. A Celebration of Bryan’s life will follow at 11:00 am at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Reid officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Bryan Lloyd Grow was born in Muskegon, Michigan on April 10, 1958 to Lloyd J. Grow and Barbara Mead Grow. He was a graduate of Mona Shores High School and later attended Muskegon Community College where he studied Transportation Planning. He studied ticketing sales at Braniff Education Systems which lead him to Abilene, Texas to be a Senior Lead Ramp Agent/Freight Agent for Chaparral Airlines. He then worked for Cirrus Air as a Courier for a few years and then went to work for Eagle Aviation Services until he retired in August of 2013. Bryan married Lori Sloan Grow on September 6, 1997 in Merkel, Texas. They have been members of Broadview Baptist Church and are currently members of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church.
Bryan was a devoted husband and father to Lori and their two boys. He was a caring and compassionate person who always tried to find the good in others. He loved to spend time with family and friends, talking about anything and everything, but especially aviation. He was an avid reader, Airline fanatic, ham radio operator, weather observer and private pilot.
Survivors include his wife, Lori Sloan Grow and their two sons, Aaron and Jared of Abilene; cousins, two sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, extended cousins and several nieces and nephews.
Bryan was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd J. Grow and Barbara Mead Grow; a sister and a brother.
Pallbearers will be Gary Rose, Theron Holladay, Curtis McAlister, Don Mastee, Jon Plyler, Rafael Perez, Leslie Solliday, and Loyd Sloan.
Memorials may be given to a favorite charity or to Pioneer Drive Baptist Church in memory of Bryan Grow.
The family of Bryan Grow wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses that had a hand in treating Bryan at Baylor All Saints Medical Center and to the Timothy department at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church.
