Bonnie Marie Gill

Marie Gill, 94, of Abilene, passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018 in Abilene.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at the Wylie Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Harkrider, officiating.   Interment will follow in the Tuscola Cemetery. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

Marie was born on October 23, 1924 in Tuscola, Texas to the late Harvey and Lida (Hicks) Barrington.  She and Maxi Lee Gill were married on November 13, 1940 in Abilene. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2002. Marie worked as a clerk for the Taylor County Courthouse for 23 years until her retirement. She was a longtime member of the Wylie Baptist Church and the Miracle Believers Sunday School Class. She and Maxi moved to Abilene in 1959.

Marie was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Welch and her husband as well as a brother, H.L. Barrington. 

She is survived by a daughter, Linda Smith and husband John of Abilene; her son, Tommy Gill of Abilene; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to Hendrick Hospice Care, 1651 Pine Street, Abilene, TX 79601.
