Bob Procter

Elsie Lorene Procter passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015 in Austin, Texas. Ms. Procter was 93 years, 7 months, and 8 days old. Elsie was born on July 22, 1921 to Douglas McWhorter and Nancy Tharp McWhorter in Paris, Texas. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert (Bob) Lee Procter, on September 10, 1939. Elsie and Bob were married for 56 years before his death in 1997. They were the proud owners of Procter’s Automotive Service in Abilene, Texas. Elise was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, her daughter Nancy Procter Morgan, her son Thomas Douglas Procter, and her sister Golden Maroney. She is survived by her daughter Sandy Procter Lyons and husband Larry, her daughter-in-law Pat Procter, granddaughter Stephanie Procter Dungy and husband Dorin, granddaughter Shelli Lyons Egger and husband Ryan, granddaughter Melissa Griffith, and great-grandchildren Jackson Philip Egger and Kennedy Peyton Egger. Elsie was a caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was also a talented artist and leaves behind countless beautiful creations including quilts, porcelain dolls, cross stitch pieces, and meticulously crafted wooden dollhouses. A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 4, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
