Billie Francis (Grammer) Hess, 88, of Abilene, Texas passed away December 2, 2021. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on December 15, 2021 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road Abilene, Texas. The burial will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd., in San Antonio, Texas on December 17, at 11:30 am (limited space).
Billie (“GiGi”) was born August 14, 1933 in Sulphur Springs, Texas to William and Irene (Murray) Grammer. She graduated from Crozier Technical High School Dallas, Texas. She married Richard Henry Hess in 1960. She worked at Army Air Force Exchange Headquarters and retired as Protocol Officer. She loved her family, traveling the world and cruises with friends and family, slots (especially when she was winning), good friends, and her country with her husband and 3 sons serving in the Air Force.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents William and Irene (Murray) Grammer, her husband Richard Henry Hess, sister Mary Beth Pulliam, brother Charlie Grammer, son Danny Baird, step daughter Donna Forston, and grandson Steven Wayne Baird.
She is survived by her brother Mike Grammer and wife Carol of Allen, Texas, brother in-law Bill Pulliam of Lewisville, Texas, daughter in-law Gayle Baird of Abilene, Texas, son in-law Ron Forston of Haltom City, Texas, step son Donald Hess and wife Celeste of Abilene, Texas, son Jeffrey Hess and wife Koy of Warner Robins Georgia, grandchildren Jason Baird and wife Mendy of Tuscola, Texas, Crystal Hess of Liberty Hills, Texas, Richard Hess of Redmond, Washington, Shelbee Russell and husband Evan of Fort Worth, Texas, Amanda Stapleton and husband Skye of Haltom City, Texas, Averi Story and husband Matthew of Warner Robins, Georgia, Bill Hess and wife Abby of Acworth, Georgia, and great grandchildren Steven Kyle Baird, Colson Baird, Rylee Russell, Izabell “Izzie” Stapleton, Rylan Baird, Kinley Baird, Laurelie Stapleton, and two girls on the way!
