Billy Standly, 86, went to be with the Lord our Savior on the evening of January 29, 2024 in Abilene, Texas.

Due to Billy's wishes, there will not be a funeral service. His life will be celebrated with close friends and family.

Billy Standly, also known as Grangran, was born in Bynum, Texas to Charley and Flora Standly on September 5, 1937. He graduated from Hillsboro High school in 1956 and then attended Tarleton College in 1956-57. In September of 1958, Billy came to Abilene Christian College where he graduated with a Bachelors in Science and Education in 1965. He was married to his lovely wife Charline Standly for 60 years. He worked as a salesman at Whitehurst Men's Store throughout college and became owner of Whitehurst with dear friend N.B Fields in 1962 when they changed the name to F&S Clothiers. Ten years later, Billy and Charline became sole owners of F&S Clothiers. The family business stayed open in Abilene, Texas for over 50 years with the help of many loyal customers and their daughter Karla Brown. Billy was a dedicated family man and could hold a conversation with anyone who came into contact with him. He had a passion for golfing, fishing, and hunting and made many lifelong memories with his close friends during those times.

Billy was preceded in death by parents Charley and Flora Standly and brother James Standly.

Billy is survived by wife Charline Standly, son Mike Standly (Annie Cook), daughter Karla Brown, brothers Glenn and Mack Standly, sisters Betty Lou Alvey and Marjorie Studer, grandchildren Hailey Linn (Jake), Kody Brown (Morgan), Suzanne Caine (Brandon), and C.A. Standly, great grandson Parker Linn and close friends Bud Ramsey, Frank Sheffield, Spots Davis, Joel Moser, Kirk Brown, Mike Bannister, and Roger Love.

Memorials may be given to West Texas Rehabilitation Center and Meals on Wheels.
