Beulah Bowman, 93, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at an Abilene medical center.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 1st, in Tuscola Cemetery in Tuscola with Richard Petree officiating, directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd. in Abilene.
The daughter of Lydia (Jones) and James Luther Beard, Beulah was born on November 23, 1915, in Karnes City, Texas. She was a registered nurse and worked for many years at Hendrick Hospital. She also was director of the Taylor County Tuberculosis Association until moving to Lubbock in 1966. She was a Methodist.
Beulah married Leon Bowman on October 20, 1966, in Palo Pinto County, Texas. In 1994, she returned to Abilene from Lubbock.
Her first husband, Fritz Jarrel Dusek, and second husband, Leon Bowman; son, Billy Dusek; parents; and sisters, Annie Rogers and Ruth Beard, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons and their spouses, Bobby and Sharla Dusek of Abilene, and Jim and Grace Dusek of Longview, and three grandchildren, Kenneth Dusek, Darron Dusek and Karen Eakin.
Memorial contributions may be made the donor's favorite charity.
