Betty J. White, 77, died Monday, May 21, 2012 at an Abilene medical center.
The daughter of Virgie Elaine (Fowler) and Oscar Reagh, she was born on August 24, 1934 in Lee County, Mississippi, and graduated from high school in Belden, MS. Betty married Loyce White on July 17, 1954 in Tupelo, MS.
In Abilene she was receptionist at the office of Carl Trusler, M.D. for 17 years, and since 2008 had worked in medical records for Cardiology Consultants. She was a member of Wylie Baptist Church in Abilene.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyce White, on January 10, 2008; a great-grandson, Riley Sparks; her parents; and one brother, Jerry Reagh.
Survivors include her three daughters, Suzanne and husband Shannon Staggs of Abilene, Melissa Sparks of Abilene, and Cheryl Evridge and husband Bill of Waco; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 24, at Wylie Baptist Church with Rev. Donny Harbers officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
