Betty Grissom Polk

Betty H. Polk, of Abilene, passed away Friday, September 26, 2008 at the age of 69. The family will receive friends today, Sunday, September 28, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Private graveside services, for family only, will be held Monday in the Caps Cemetery. August 3, 1939, Betty was born the daughter of Robert and Irene (Davis) Hysaw in Abilene, Texas. She grew up in Abilene and graduated from Abilene High School. She was a past member the Junior League, Abilene Women's Club and the Abilene Garden Club. Betty attended Wylie Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert L. "Buck" Hysaw and Irene (Davis) Hysaw. Betty is survived by two sons, Hardy Grissom and his wife Becky and their children, John and Jake, of Kerrville, and David Grissom, of Abilene; one daughter, Beth Green and her husband Ricky and their children, Laurie Beth, Meredith, Thomas, Catherine and Caroline, of Lake Dallas, Texas; one sister, Peggy King and her husband Jim; as well as two nieces, Tiffany and Wendy. Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
