Berylgene Prather

Berylgene Prather, age 92, died Thursday, August 4, 2005 in Abilene. Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 7, 2005, @ 2 p.m. at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel at 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd. with Rev. H.B. Terry officiating. Burial will follow in the Moran Cemetery under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home. Berylgene Dawson Prather was born on November 10, 1912 in Albany, Texas to parents Wilber E. Dawson and Beryl Oldham Dawson. She was a member of the Brookhollow Christian Church in Abilene. Berylgene lived her life to the fullest by making good use of each moment of everyday. An angel on earth, one could not hope to find the right words to describe someone so perfect in everyway. Whether clear skies and sunny or when it would rain, wearing a smile she would never complain. Put up preserves, patch together a quilt, a loving touch on her roses, they never would wilt. Like the sun's bright reflection off the wings of a dove, Berylgene was absolutely the truest definition of love. Berylgene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, L.A. "Bud" Prather, two daughters: Jaine Prather Yates and Ellen Prather Dean; and a daughter-in-law, Camilla Prather. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her two sons: Gilbert D. Prather and Cass Wilber Prather, both of Austin. Also a daughter: Lucinda Prather Randall of Dallas; and longtime caregiver, Jeannie Webster. Also 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be sent to Brookhollow Christian Church, Ben Richey Boys Ranch, or the Donor's favorite charity.
