Barbara J. “Bobbie” Pitman, 72, died Thursday, November 7, 2013 at her residence in Abilene, Texas. Born in Vernal, Utah on September 25, 1941, Bobbie was the daughter of Molly (Clements) and Charles Hossack. After her marriage to Lowell “Bud” Pitman, the couple was stationed at various places during his 20-year career in the U. S Air Force. After his retirement from the Air Force, they lived in Weatherford, Texas, from 1974 until his death of October of 2008. Bobbie moved from Weatherford to Abilene in 2011 to be near her daughter. Bobbie was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, and homemaker. Her help for others had no end. Bobbie was a lifelong Republican and Conservative. Survivors include her daughter, Billie Walker and husband Roy of Abilene; two sons, Ben Pitman and wife Angie of New Hampshire, and Bud Pitman and wife Susan of Wylie, Texas; sister, Bonnie Aldridge of Weatherford; and four grandchildren, Alexandra Pitman, Shelby Walker, Shannon Walker and Hailey Pitman. No services are scheduled. Her ashes will be transported to Dallas – Fort Worth National Cemetery to be placed with her husband’s ashes. Arrangements are being made by The Hamil Family Funeral, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Wounded Warrior Project - Donate (support.woundedwarriorproject.org).
