Barbara Pinkston

Barbara Nan Pinkston, 79, of Abilene, left this earthly world to be welcomed into the arms of her heavenly Father on February 7, 2024.

 Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.  A celebration of life will take place on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 10:00 am at Wylie Baptist Church, 6097 Buffalo Gap Road.  Burial will follow at Drummond Cemetery.   Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home.

 Barbara was born in Abilene, Texas to Hollis and Marcia Lee Buchanan on April 3, 1944. She grew up attending Wylie schools and graduated in 1962. While in school, she met her love, Henry Pinkston. Henry and Barbara married on July 27, 1962. Barbara was an active member of View Baptist Church and volunteered her time by doing for others. 

 Henry and Barbara welcomed their 3 sons. Troy Pinkston (Donna Kay), Greg Pinkston (Allison), and Marshall Pinkston (Shelley). If you knew Barbara, you knew that she loved her Lord and Savior. She wanted to share Him with whoever she met. Her grandchildren were her biggest joy and called her Grammie. Ashley Tindol (Jay), Emily Olvera (Marco), Caleb Pinkston (Emily), Todd Collier (Kylie), Jo Lynn Owens (Riley), Brianna Galloway, Toby Collier, and Tatum Pinkston. Henry and Barbara had 16 great grandchildren. 

 Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Henry Pinkston, parents, Hollis and Marcia Lee Buchanan, sister, Beverly Buchanan, daughter in law, Shelia Pinkston, grandchildren, Joshua Taylor Pinkston, and Hollis Hayes Pinkston.

 Pallbearers will be Henry and Barbara’s grandsons.
