Barbara Aycock

Barbara Aycock, 89, passed away on Wednesday, June 30.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday July 5, 2021, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, Texas.

A memorial mass will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at The Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr Santiago Udayar and the Rev. Msgr Frederick Nawarskas, officiating. Committal services will follow at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.

Barbara was born in Norfolk, Virginia to Capt. Ralph and Marie (Beacham) Curles. She graduated from the Pananma Canal Zone College where she met her future husband, David. He preceded her in death as did her parents and son-in-law, Roy Morris.

Barbara is survived by her children: Debra Morris, Karen Richey and husband Roy, Brian Aycock and wife Jean, James Aycock and wife Terry, Diane Shaw and husband Donnie, and Kathleen Aycock; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; her sisters, Edna Didier and Margaret Maxwell.

Family suggests memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, The Food Bank of West Central Texas, or to a charity of one’s choice.
