Austin "Rooster" Pittcock, 23, of Abilene went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 13, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Cody Cochran and Don Jones will officiate. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Willow Cemetery in Haskell, Texas. Austin was born in Athens, Texas on December 22, 1985. He graduated from Gatesville High School in 2004. Austin moved to Abilene from Gatesville three years ago. He was employed by Coca-Cola Bottling Company where he worked in shipping and receiving. Austin loved the outdoors. He especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. Austin attended Beltway Park Baptist Church in Abilene. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nell and Jane Tutt and Novis and Sonny Pittcock. Austin is survived by his father Nolan Pittcock, of Rule; his mother and his step-father, Rena and Richard Mitchell, of Gatesville; two brothers, Rhett Looney and Colton Mitchell, both of Gatesville; three aunts, Sandy Clay and husband Tom, of Abilene, Pam Bowles and husband Donnie, of Rule, and Cindy McNeely and husband Billy, of Iowa Park; two uncles, Dave McKee and wife Teresa, of Abilene, and Jim Pittcock and wife Bonnie, of Madisonville; as well as numerous cousins, friends and extended family. Memorials may be made in honor of Austin Pittcock to the Serenity Foundation of Texas, 1546 North 2nd Street, Abilene, Texas 79601; or to "Celebrate Recovery" at Beltway Park Baptist Church, 4009 Beltway South, Abilene, Texas 79606.
