Audrey Standard Pearce

Audrey Standard Pearce, 76, died Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at a local hospital. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Friday at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Services, with Rev. Derrell Patterson officiating, will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 29 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. September 10, 1931, Audrey was born in Willmar, Minnesota to Theodore and Esther (Hanson) Johnson. She graduated from Willmar High School in 1949. In 1967, Audrey moved to Abilene. She worked as a secretary in the Department of Education at McMurry College. Audrey was a wonderful cook. She loved her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Don Pearce, in 2003. She is survived by four sons, Tommy Standard and wife Jackie, of Austin, Jim Standard and wife Susan, also of Austin, David Standard and wife Lucy, of Abilene, and Michael Standard and wife Nancy, of San Antonio; three brothers, Chuck Johnson and wife Shari, of Minnesota, Clifford Johnson and wife Diana, of Albuquerque, and Clayton Johnson and wife Marlene, of Minnesota; two sisters, Arlene Emory and husband Joe, of Abilene and Ardis Peterson of California; six grandsons, John, Chris, Josh ,Jake, James, and Will Standard; and two granddaughters, Crystal and Caitlin Standard. Audrey is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
